In January-April 2023, the Moscow Region accounted for 2.6% of the total Russian volume of MEAT produced, 3% from milk and 0.5% from eggs.
The share of agricultural organizations in the total volume of meat production was 94.5%, 4.8% were households, and 0.7% were peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs. In terms of gross milk yield, the share of 89.1% falls on agricultural organizations, households - 5.6%, peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs - 5.3%.
At the end of May 2023, the number of cattle in the farms of the Moscow region at the end of last May decreased by 2.4% compared to the end of January-May 2022. Thus, the number of cows decreased by 4.7%. In addition, the number of pigs decreased by 4.9%, sheep and goats - by 2.1%, but the number of poultry increased by 2.2%.
In agricultural enterprises, the number of cattle decreased by 2.8% (the number of cows - by 6.5%). Pigs decreased by 4.5%, sheep and goats - by 3.2%, and poultry - by 1.1%.
In peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs, the number of cattle increased by 12.1% (the number of cows - by 19.7%). The number of pigs decreased by 5.9%. The growth of the number of sheep and goats amounted to 8.1%, poultry - 11.9%.
Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov during his annual address to the residents of the region noted that more grain had begun to be harvested in the Moscow region , and the area of agricultural land involved had increased.
He recalled that when agriculture began to develop , the area involved was 480 thousand hectares.
“Now - under 900 thousand (ha - ed.). In total, as we know, we have a million (ha - ed.) The maximum amount of agricultural land. And we collect more grain,” Vorobyov said.
