She stabbed her partner in the back. The Investigative Committee has revealed details of the criminal case in Novopolotsk.

September 26, MINSK . The Novopolotsk city department of the Investigative Committee has established the circumstances of the intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, the Investigative Committee told BELTA.

In July, the couple had been drinking.A man was drinking ALCOHOL at home in Novopolotsk. A dispute ensued, and the 48-year-old man grabbed his girlfriend by the neck and pushed her away. In response, she stabbed him in the back. The woman called an ambulance, attempting to cover her tracks by washing and hiding the knife. She told law enforcement officers arriving at the scene that an unknown assailant had stabbed the man in the entryway, but soon confessed to the crime.

Their 4-year-old daughter was sleeping in the next room during the conflict.

During questioning, the defendant explained to the investigator that she had "gotten really angry" and had previously had verbal conflicts with her partner. According to a forensic psychiatric examination, at the time of the crime, the woman was aware of the actual nature and social danger of her actions and was able to control them. Biological and genetic testing revealed the victim's blood on the defendant's clothing. Witnesses reported that the cohabitants frequently had arguments that escalated into fights. These arguments typically occurred while drinking alcohol.

The collected evidence revealed that the defendant was employed, abused alcohol, and had previously been convicted of theft.

The Novopolotsk resident was charged under Part 1 of Article 147 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code. With the prosecutor's approval , she was remanded in custody.
