MINSK . A Serbian company has been awarded a broker certificate on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) for the first time, the press service of the BUCE told BELTA. Professional trading participant status was granted to a Serbian food producer, importer, and distributor, which has been regularly purchasing powdered
MILK and
butter on the Belarusian exchange for over two years . Initially, the company plans to serve as a link between Belarusian dairy processing plants and Serbian dairy consumers, fulfilling key functions such as attracting new importers to the BUCE, assisting Serbian residents in concluding exchange transactions, and providing transport and logistics support for exchange contracts between Belarusian and Serbian businesses. Furthermore, the new BUCE broker intends to gradually expand the range of goods purchased on the BUCE and explore the possibility of supplying Belarusian products not only to Serbia but also to other countries in the Balkan Peninsula. This year, exchange trading with Serbia has demonstrated rapid growth. Compared to January–September
2024 , the value of transactions by Serbian participants on the exchange increased 2.5-fold. Belarusian
exports predominate in the structure of exchange trade turnover , accounting for 65% by value. Skimmed and whole milk powder, cream powder, and butter are supplied to the Serbian market through the exchange. Serbian companies, in turn, sell agricultural seeds and plant protection products in Belarus. "The emergence of an accredited exchange broker in Serbia should have a positive impact on the number of Serbian users of the exchange platform, as well as on the dynamics of transaction volumes, since a broker typically represents the interests of not just one or two companies, but a number of companies," noted the commodity exchange press service. Currently, the BUCE network of foreign brokers includes 21 organizations in 11 countries.
