MINSK . The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange will assist in strengthening trade and economic relations between Belarus and Indonesia by providing its electronic platform for effective interaction between business entities in the two countries, the BUCE press service told BELTA. The
exchange mechanism is expected to not only simplify business contacts between Belarusian and Indonesian companies and provide a reliable channel for mutual trade, but also optimize the supply chain in both directions by eliminating unnecessary intermediaries. Regarding
commodity mix, given the significant share of the agro-industrial complex in the economies of Belarus and Indonesia, the primary focus in developing exchange trade between the countries will be on agricultural products, particularly highly liquid items such as powdered
MILK ,
butter , cheese, and
MEAT products. All leading Belarusian producers of these goods are accredited at BUCE, which will facilitate the regular supply of Belarusian products to the Indonesian market, the largest country in Southeast Asia.
Indonesian companies could also become key suppliers of food raw materials in demand in Belarus, including cocoa powder, palm oil, and coconut flakes, which are regularly purchased through BUCE by confectionery companies. Furthermore
, if an Indonesian exchange broker is accredited at BUCE, the country will serve as a gateway for the
EXPORT of domestic goods to other countries in the region, facilitating the expansion of the exchange's trading geography.
Currently, 14 companies from five Southeast Asian countries—Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Singapore—are represented at BUCE. The predominant transactions are Belarusian skim milk powder, cream powder, softwood lumber, and sulfate pulp.
The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) was established in 2004. Its first trades took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting their products and to help foreign companies enter the Belarusian market. The exchange trades a wide range of metal, timber,
agricultural , industrial, and consumer goods.
