The growth of Brazilian pork exports to Chile is arousing interest, according to researchers at the Center for Advanced Study in Applied Economics (Cepea).

According to Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), EXPORT volumes increased from 7,700 tons in January of this year to 13,300 tons in August. The peak was reached in July, when 14,500 tons were shipped to Chile, double the amount in January. As a result, the researchers note, Chile became the second-largest market for Brazilian pork in July and August, ahead of CHINA .
