Winter rye and winter triticale (a hybrid of rye and wheat), growing on the fields of the EkoNiva Group of Companies in the Voronezh Region, are the first to be harvested.
Ahead we have to collect a vetch-oat mixture, annual and perennial grasses, as well as alfalfa. The timing of the collection is related to the timing when the culture will have the greatest nutritional value.
The company considers it one of its key tasks to provide cattle with high-quality feed. To do this, appropriate crops are sown on the fields of the holding. According to Alexander Anpilov, Crop Production DIRECTOR of the EkoNiva Group of Companies, specialists in the Ryazan, Kaluga and Volga regions are planning to start harvesting next.
A year ago, EkoNiva employees harvested 831,000 tons of fodder crops. Thus, the group's own herds received a complete diet and were fully provided with food.
