The dairy industry is one of the leading areas of agricultural development in the Lipetsk Region.
More than 30 agricultural enterprises engaged in milk production operate in the region, nine of which are registered as breeding farms. Agricultural organizations and peasant farms keep approximately 36,000 head of cattle , half of which are breeding cattle. This contributes to the enhancement of the animals' genetic potential and, consequently, to increased productivity of the dairy herd.
According to statistics, the average milk yield per cow in large and medium-sized agricultural enterprises for the first seven months of 2025 was 5,989 kg. This is 255 kg more than in the same period last year.
Milk production at agricultural enterprises in the region from January to July 2025 increased by 9.6%, reaching 168,000 tons. As of August 1, farms of all categories had produced 200,400 tons of milk, 6.8% more than the previous year.
“The dairy farming industry is a vital component of the region’s agro-industrial complex,” she emphasized.Ekaterina Markova, Minister of Agriculture of the Lipetsk Region, said, "Thanks to systematic state support, it's showing good results. The region is fully self-sufficient in milk and dairy products."
This year, 365 million rubles have been allocated from the federal and regional budgets to support dairy farming, including the acquisition and maintenance of breeding cattle. Ninety-three percent of these funds have already reached agricultural producers.
