The purchasing power of Russians is falling due to high inflation. At the same time, the consumer prefers the GOST assortment, rather than low quality products. Such observations were shared in the Yubileiny Ishim agricultural holding . They also said that the market is undergoing a redistribution between producers of MEAT products - who can give discounts and who can't.

- The market trend is such that the consumer prefers the basic, that is, GOST assortment. These are far from low quality products made from cheap raw materials. At the same time, the purchasing power of the population shows a negative trend under the influence of such a factor as record inflation growth, which amounted to 12.5% in 2022 with wage growth of 5–6%. Therefore, federal manufacturers are holding price promotions with a discount of up to 60%. There is a redistribution of the market between producers of meat products, which can give deep discounts and which cannot, - said in Yubileiny.

The agricultural holding explained that due to a decrease in purchasing power, manufacturers themselves create a trend to provide deep discounts on their product.

- To maintain the required level of sales, we also follow it and give discounts due to lower profitability on products. Trading networks in this matter do not have any influence, they added there.

Agroholding "Yubileiny" is one of the largest enterprises in the agro-industrial sector of RUSSIA, the largest agricultural enterprise in the Tyumen region. The leader in the production of pork and finished products in the region. Engaged in crop production, pig breeding, meat processing and others. One of the legal entities of the enterprise is CJSC Plemzavod-Yubileiny. The company's revenue in 2021 amounted to 3.1 billion rubles, and net profit - 1.2 billion rubles. The holding is headed by Sergey Mamontov.

In an interview with a 72.RU correspondent, Konstantin Selyanin, a candidate of economic sciences, says that last year the food industry showed a slight increase. But he notes a decrease in consumption among Russians.

- Reduced consumption. Clearly there is a simplification of food consumption. Because when there is not enough money, people switch to cheaper, simpler goods: instead of meat, they buy liverwurst. This saves money. Two things can be stated. The first is a slight decrease in consumption, but not dramatic. The second is the simplification of the food basket itself, - Selyanin shared his vision of the situation.
