Petersburg set a record for the number of hospitalized per day

Over the past day, 587 people infected with CORONAVIRUS have been admitted to St. Petersburg hospitals, this is the maximum number of citizens since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic, according to the Smolny press service. 499 people were hospitalized the day before.

The previous record was set in mid-October, on the 14th. Then 555 hospitalizations were recorded per day, after which the figures began to decline. Since yesterday, October 20, the daily number of hospitalizations has again approached 500 - 499 new patients have been recorded.

During the third wave of coronavirus this summer, St. Petersburg hospitals received 800-850 covid-19 cases daily , the press service of the St. Petersburg HEALTH Committee reported in June.

In total, more than 7.5 thousand St. Petersburg residents with COVID-19 or pneumonia are currently being treated in hospitals, of which 372 people are connected to mechanical ventilation, and 707 are in intensive care.
