In the Magadan Region, more than ten people fell ill after contact with a sick cat. They are currently being treated by dermatologists, according to regional HEALTH Minister Alexander Vitko.

According to him, the outbreak is located in Khasyn. Children first petted the sick cat , and then adults were infected from them. Some of them were hospitalized in a 24-hour hospital.

The minister urged people to wash their hands more often and remind children to do the same. He also reported an outbreak of acute respiratory viral infections in the region. Due to it, 16 classrooms in five schools and eight groups in five kindergartens have been closed. The outbreaks are localized.

Another outbreak has been recorded in Omsukchan and Myaundzha. People there are becoming infected with enterovirus. Children are bringing it home from schools and kindergartens, which is then spreading the infection to adults. Special medications have been delivered to the districts and are being distributed free of charge.

Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) previously recorded a decline in acute respiratory viral infection cases over the past week. The infection rate has dropped significantly in the seven- to 14-year-old age group, down 6.6%. The number of new infections has also decreased.covid-19 .
