How, having a small area of land, to show an impressive result? The answer to this question is known to the staff of the SPK "Svisloch" in the Grodno region. From year to year, the enterprise occupies a leading position in the region and the country in terms of agricultural production. With what expectations do specialists approach the next harvest, our correspondent found out.

Small area - big efficiency

SPK "Svisloch" is a relatively small enterprise. Agrarians have at their disposal a little less than 3 thousand hectares of land, about 2.5 thousand of which are occupied directly by arable land. Despite the modest ownership, the cooperative team uses the area as efficiently as possible. Speaking about the structure of crops, Vasily Gustyr, chairman of SEC Svisloch, draws attention to the priority of winter grains.

- We practically do not have spring sowing; compared to last year, we reduced it by about 25%. The main crop is winter wheat. In general, crops are in good condition. The drought, like which has not been in our memory for a very long time, makes its own adjustments. But it is too early to talk about any critical trends. Of course, we expect heavy rainfall. There has been a good rain recently, but this is not enough, - says the chairman of the cooperative.

The staff of SPK "Svisloch" also specializes in growing vegetables. Vasily Gustyr draws an analogy: from the crops that are cultivated in the fields, you can assemble a complete set of borscht.

- We grow traditional for Belarus types of vegetables: potatoes , beets, onions, carrots , which we sell later, - added the chairman of the SEC "Svisloch".

How is fodder harvesting against the backdrop of a serious drought? After all, dry weather can hit them the hardest.

- The first mowing was completed successfully and on time. We are satisfied with the quality, including moisture content, nutritional value. We follow the technology so that the feed meets the highest quality standards. This year we plan to harvest about 16,000 tons of haylage. More silage is needed - about 24 thousand tons, - says Vasily Gustyr.

On a low start

So far, there has been a relative calm on the fields of the SPK Svisloch. However, there is very little left before the start of the harvesting campaign. Traditionally, farmers will start by harvesting barley and rapeseed. These cultures ripen much earlier.

The harvesting campaign is preceded by the preparation process. First of all, the specialists of the enterprise took care of the technology. The cooperative has five harvesters. This is quite enough for the available space.

For the machine operator Jan Karpovich, this harvest will be the 31st. The man has been working in agriculture since 1992.

- Every year is like a new one for us, - says the village worker. - Harvesting quite strongly differ from each other. This year, for example, there is a severe drought. From this we can conclude that we will most likely enter the fields much earlier than usual.

The preparation of equipment at the enterprise was attended to even in winter. Yan Karpovich says that she is ready to go into the fields even now.

- There are no problems with this, as we perfectly understand that the condition of combines and other units during harvesting is a fundamentally important factor. We did everything to ensure that the campaign went off without a hitch. We hope for a good and high-quality harvest, - the machine operator concluded.

Denis Sleznik will drive a grain harvester for the fourth time. The specialist notes: harvesting bread is a very difficult and stressful job .

- But very important and necessary on the scale of the region and the country. Indeed, during the time of suffering, one has to work from early morning until late at night, regardless of external factors. I wish the weather favored us in the upcoming difficult weeks. Of course, not everything depends on it, but a lot, - says Denis Sleznik.

Mechanical engineer Andrey Romanovsky confirms the words of his colleagues: all the equipment that will be used during the harvest is ready for work.

- These were difficult and intense months and weeks. Well prepared. Very soon we will go out into the fields and, I am sure, the equipment will not let you down, - said the farmer.

Andrey Romanovsky is one of many young specialists of the Svisloch SPK. He received his higher education in the capital's BGATU. After the university, he was distributed to the Grodno region.

- I do not regret at all that I have connected my life with agriculture. And I am even more glad that I ended up in Svisloch. Management sets serious tasks that are interesting to solve. Of course, there are good social guarantees and high wages. As a young specialist, I note: there can be no better start to a career. I want to grow and develop further.

Very soon, combines and other farm equipment will go to surf the fields.

- Our experts have a huge stock of experience how to act in this or that situation. Yes, the current weather is atypical, such long dry periods are very rare. Nevertheless, we expect to get a good and high-quality harvest, - concluded the DIRECTOR of the SPK Svisloch.

Over 40 tons per day

SPK "Svisloch" is famous for its developed livestock industry. Every day, the milking herd of the enterprise, which is more than 1,150 heads, produces 41 tons of MILK, which, in terms of one animal , is about 36.2 liters of raw material per day.

- Milk is a key task for us. The plans are to significantly increase the dairy herd. The design of a new farm in Netechi is already underway. We are also engaged in the reconstruction of the so-called "kindergarten" at the Center farm, where the smallest calves are kept.

The capacity of the new farm is designed for 600 heads.

- At the end of 2022, we milked 12 thousand kilograms of milk from each cow. According to this indicator, we are in fourth place in the country. This year we plan to cross the line of 12.5 thousand. There is potential for this.

According to the results of the first quarter of 2023, the average milk yield per cow was 3,143 kilograms of milk.

In the first place for the management of the enterprise - the well-being of employees. The average salary here exceeded 2,000 rubles. New workers are provided with housing. Medical examinations are also carried out for them on an ongoing basis. Veterans of the enterprise receive patronage assistance - both material and in-kind.

SEC invests a lot of money in the social infrastructure of the agricultural town of Svisloch. Recently, a swimming pool began to function at a local school, pupils were transported, and a cafe was reconstructed.
