December 28, Brest. The Brest region in 2022 increased the volume of exports of food products and agricultural raw materials by almost a third, BelTA learned from the regional executive committee.
Processing enterprises of the region this year increased the production of the main types of dairy products by 5% and MEAT - by 8%. This, in turn, caused the growth of EXPORT deliveries of food and agricultural raw materials: in January - October they increased by 30.8% and amounted to $1.8 billion. The share of the region in the republican volume increased by 1% compared to the same period last year - up to 26 ,8%.The success of processors is directly related to the achievements in the livestock industry of the region, the modernization of which is carried out on a systematic and planned basis. So, in 2022, construction and reconstruction of 43 dairy farms was carried out with state support. More than 80% of the dairy herd has been transferred to new technologies. it is expected that the increase in MILK production at the end of the year will increase by 4.3% - up to 1.98 million tons.
"The region is still in first place in the republic in terms of average milk yield per cow (we expect 6780 kg per year), its marketability (91.3%) and quality (97.7% of milk is sold with extra and higher varieties). The region holds the lead in terms of average daily weight gain of pigs (734 g), it ranks second in terms of average daily weight gain of cattle (689 g). Brest region is the only one in the republic that has increased its gross livestock production by 2.5%," the regional executive committee noted.
In 2023, milk production in the Brest region is going to be increased by at least 2%. It is planned to build and reconstruct 56 livestock facilities, including almost 40 dairy farms. More than Br260 million will be needed for these purposes. It is planned to attract resources from various sources.
