Difficulties on the way to livestock breeding were discussed in the Republic of Tuva, the regional Ministry of Agriculture reports. In particular, the government noted that livestock breeders have a hard time without a regional selection and breeding center, the report says.
To support livestock breeders in the region, they are going to open two new breeding goat-breeding enterprises, the report says. Woolly goats will be bred here - at the moment they are bred only in the Republic of Tuva, the regional administration noted. In addition, the department stressed that without their own Center for Selection and Breeding Work, local pedigree livestock breeders have a hard time. Now the department is considering the possibility of opening such a center, which will be provided with a platform for artificial insemination. The center will have to contribute to the development of livestock breeding in the region, help keep breeding records, organize the process of marking farm animals and can satisfy many more requests from local breeding farms.
In total, 34 breeding livestock farms were opened in the region, the department noted. The government is investing in support of livestock breeders, in 2022 alone 65 million rubles were allocated for their needs.
The department also considered other problems of concern to livestock breeders in the region - for example, the lack of shepherds for grazing livestock and the lack of boarding schools that would take care of livestock breeders' children.
