Quarantine announced in two more districts of the Altai Territory

The number of districts of the Altai Territory, in some areas of which foci of bovine leukemia have been identified, has increased.

As follows from the orders of the regional veterinary administration, restrictive measures (quarantine) have been introduced in the village of Yasnaya Polyana, Rebrikhinsky district, and in the village of Nizhnyaya Suetka, Suetsky district.

The day before, epizootic foci of bovine leukemia were detected in a number of villages in the Shelabolikha, Topchikhinsky, Khabarsky, Kamensky, Blagoveshchensky, Tselinny, Krutikhinsky districts of the Altai Territory.


Bovine leukemia is a chronic infectious disease with an irreversible process caused by the bovine leukemia virus (BLV), which is asymptomatic at the beginning, and then manifests itself as lymphocytosis or the formation of tumors in hematopoietic and other organs and tissues.

The source of the infectious agent is sick and infected with the bovine leukemia virus animals.
