Karankevich: It is important to focus all efforts on implementing the Belarus-Oman cooperation roadmap

October 6, MINSK . it is now crucial to focus all efforts and attention on implementing the roadmap for cooperation between Belarus and Oman. Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich told reporters following a meeting between Belarusian President ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarek Al Said and a ceremony to exchange the texts of the signed bilateral documents, BelTA reports. The package of international agreements exchanged between Belarus and Oman included a roadmap, which, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, defines the main areas for developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. The document envisages the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, including a major project in wood processing and industry in general, as well as the creation of joint ventures. The roadmap also addresses cooperation in agriculture, food and baby food supplies, and tourism development. Particular attention is paid to cultural interaction.
"The roadmap is quite detailed and covers virtually all areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, primarily the implementation of the agreements reached at the level of heads of state," Viktor Karankevich clarified.

He also explained that the document outlines deadlines for completing the tasks and assigns responsibility for them. "The most important task at the level of government, state bodies, and business entities is to ensure the implementation of all planned actions, all roadmap points, and action plans within the established timeframes and in full," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized. "The most important thing now is to focus all our efforts and concentrate on implementing the roadmap."

All this, he believes, will unlock untapped potential in relations between Belarus and Oman and enhance cooperation.
According to the Belarusian side, trade and economic cooperation with Oman is developing dynamically and has received particular impetus over the past two years. Trade turnover between the two countries in 2024 amounted to $8.44 million, a 2.2-fold increase compared to 2023. Notably, this volume is primarily made up of Belarusian exports, which increased 2.3-fold over the year to $8.16 million. This significant growth was due, in part, to increased supplies of powdered MILK, whey, and engines.
