They are produced in accordance with GOST 6507-90 and refer to micrometric tools and are used to measure the external (covered) dimensions of products and parts by direct absolute method.
Measured dimensions are determined by the rotation angle of the micrometer
Head drum. The longitudinal main scale located on the stationary sleeve, called stem, serves for counting the full turns of the micrometer screw. The stem has a slotted nut for centering and guiding the micrometer screw. In order to facilitate readout, the scale consists of two scales with 1 mm spacing, offset from each other by 0.5 mm and applied on both sides of the longitudinal stroke on the stem. Thus, the division interval of the main scale is equal to the step of the micrometer screw.
The pointer for reading on the main scale is the end of the drum attached to the micrometer screw. The circular scale with radially applied strokes is used to count the fractions of a millimeter. The scale has 50 graduations marked on the cone part of the micrometer drum. The pointer for this scale is the longitudinal bar on the stem.
The measuring surfaces of smooth micrometers are equipped with hard alloy.
The smooth parts of the micrometer screw have a diameter of 8h9 or 6h9.
Micrometers are equipped with setting measures for adjustment. The micrometers with the measuring range of 25 mm to 300 mm are provided with one setting measure corresponding to the size of the lower limit of the micrometer range and with two setting measures if the range exceeds 300 mm. Micrometers with the measuring range from 0 to 25 mm do not have a setting measure.
Micrometers are subdivided into accuracy classes 1 and 2. According to the accuracy class the limit of tolerable error of micrometer is set.
Smooth micrometers produced by "CRIN" CJSC, Kirov,
Russia are included in the State Register of Measuring Instruments of the Republic of Belarus and are supplied to the Customer with the verification passport.
