October 8, Brest. A 40-year-old man choked on a piece of raw
MEAT and died in the Pinsk district, BelTA reported, citing Tatyana Kotok, spokesperson for the State Forensic Expertise Committee for the Brest Region.
The man returned home drunk and demanded dinner from his wife. There was no ready-made food at the time, leading to an argument between the couple. "The man demonstratively took a piece of raw meat out of the refrigerator and bit into
it. Afterward, he began choking and then collapsed, showing no signs of life. Arriving medical personnel pronounced the man
dead ," said Kotok. A forensic examination was ordered to determine the cause of death.
An expert from the Pinsk Interdistrict Department of the State Forensic Expertise Committee determined that the man's death was caused by mechanical asphyxia due to the blockage of his airway by a piece of meat. A chemical analysis revealed ethyl
ALCOHOL levels of 3.1 ppm in
the man's blood. In living people, this usually corresponds to a severe degree of acute intoxication caused by alcohol consumption.
