Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed several new sanctions against Russia, he announced on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the first decree extends sanctions that were about to expire and applies to Russian entrepreneurs.

The second decree introduces restrictions against Russian military industry enterprises, namely manufacturers of drones and components.

The third document concerns individuals and companies associated with the Russian oil sector, Zelensky said.

"We also expect new sanctions from the European Union—the 19th package—and corresponding steps from the United States," the Ukrainian president said.

On September 19, the European Commission presented the 19th sanctions package against Russia. It includes sanctions against third countries for aiding the Russian military-industrial complex, a ban on Russian liquefied natural gas by 2027, stricter export controls for industries in Russia, India, and China , and other measures.

Moscow considers Western sanctions illegal. The Kremlin has noted that the restrictions are incapable of changing Moscow's policies and that the Russian economy has developed a certain immunity to them .

In early October, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Kiev had no desire to continue negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict and that they had been put on hold.
