October 7,
Vitebsk . Since September 1, drivers of personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) have committed 59 traffic violations in the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office told BELTA.
Amendments to the traffic regulations came into force on September 1 of this year, paying special attention to regulating the movement of PMVs and bicycles. These modes of transport are currently enjoying growing popularity among the population.
Traffic police officers are warning of possible consequences. However, PMV drivers committed 59 violations, while cyclists committed 484. In most cases, they failed to comply with the obligation to dismount when crossing the roadway. Administrative penalties in the form of fines were imposed on five PMV drivers and 67 cyclists.
The basis for the tightening of measures was the fact of previously recorded cases of liability during the year or traffic violations while in a state of
ALCOHOL intoxication . Monitoring of the situation will continue.
