GC "Rusagro" decided to wait for better times to sell last year's agricultural products

The revenue of Rusagro Group at the end of 2022 increased by 6% and reached 258.58 billion rubles. This follows from the preliminary operating reports of the company. Only the company's agricultural business showed a negative trend, so sales were postponed to 2023.

Rusagro notes that the growth of indicators was in all areas of the group's activities, except for agriculture. This group's business was experiencing difficulties due to falling prices. Apparently, the company is waiting for an improvement in market conditions, so part of the sales was postponed to the first half of 2023. In addition, the decision was influenced by the delay in harvesting due to bad weather.

The output of production in the Primorsky Territory to the planned capacity allowed to increase the production of pork in live weight to 336 thousand tons (+9% by 2021). Against this background, pork sales increased by 13% - up to 281 thousand tons.

SUGAR production decreased by 3% in 2022 - to 770 thousand tons. The sales of the segment, on the contrary, increased by 11% - up to 850 thousand tons. A slight decline was shown by the production of crude vegetable oil - up to 640 thousand tons (-4%). Sales of industrial and consumer products fell by 3% and 7% - to 1.3 million tons and to 316 thousand tons, respectively.

In 2022, the group managed to increase grain sales by 16% to 984 thousand tons. The launched trading business made it possible to increase sales of wheat. Sales of oilseeds were postponed to 2023, so the final result for 2022 showed a decrease by 56% to 171 thousand tons.

Rusagro Group of Companies is an agro-industrial holding operating since 1995. The holding includes six sugar factories, two feed mills and 13 pig farms in the Chernozem region, and the company is also engaged in the oil and fat business. The land bank (Belgorod, Tambov, Kursk, Orel and Voronezh regions) is over 686 thousand hectares. The main owner of the group is Vadim Moshkovich, against whom sanctions were imposed . The company's revenue in 2021 amounted to 222.93 billion, net profit - 41.43 billion rubles.
