“According to the adopted documents, member states will independently determine the date of introduction and procedure for marking products with identification means on their territory, notifying the EEC about this no later than six months in advance. Thus, in all cases, in each of the EAEU countries, recognition of identification means will be guaranteed other states formed in accordance with unified requirements. At the same time, due to the peculiarities of the drug labeling system in Kyrgyzstan, the EEC Council has provided an exception that allows the application of requirements for the means of identification that differ from the adopted decision," the EEC trade bloc noted. In addition, in connection with the positions of the member states of the union, the decisions separately noted the lack of intentions of a number of EAEU countries to introduce labeling at the current stage. So, for medicines it is Armenia, for soft drinks and juices it is Kazakhstan , and for laptops and phones it is Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
“The Commission made fundamental decisions aimed at ensuring one of the basic freedoms of the EAEU. Thanks to the agreements reached, it will be possible to create conditions for the unimpeded movement of goods across the territory of the union and prevent the emergence of barriers in the internal market,” emphasized Andrey Slepnev, member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the EEC.
