PIONERPRODUKT.by continues to publish videos from the beekeeping farms of Tatarstan, which were visited as part of the large AgroExpedition "Agriculture of Tatarstan-2021". In this video, we will see the apiary in the Zaripov farm and find out what a swarm is for bees and why it is needed, and we will also find out why it is impossible to paint the hive red.
The apiary in the Zaripov farm is located right in the village, but despite this, the neighbors do not complain about the bees. Although the bees of the Central Russian breed have a vicious disposition.
In order to protect neighbors from bees, you need to follow a number of measures: install 2-meter fences, do not let the bees out of the hives in the rain.
The location of the hives in the apiary is also important: in the spring they should stand in the sun so that the bees develop faster. And in the summer, on the contrary, in the shade.
Despite the fact that all the bees in the apiary are of the same breed, colonies can differ significantly in productivity: some bring more honey, others less.
All hives on the farm are wooden. However, Styrofoam hives are also well received: they are lighter and cheaper. However, according to the owners, in the apiary, all hives should be of the same format: either from PPS or wooden ones. This is necessary to create equally comfortable conditions for all bee colonies.
In order to catch the bees that have separated from the hive during swarming, it is necessary to place special traps on the trees - swarms, inside of which the uterus pheromones (apiroy) are applied. After the swarm settles there, the trap is removed.
In total, the farm has about 170 bee colonies that live in Dubyazovsky and shop-type hives. From each hive you can get from 30 to 50 kg of honey per season.
In the apiary there is a semi-basement bee house for wintering bees.
The color in which the hives are painted is also of great importance: the bees do not see the red color, which means they will not see their hive if it is painted red.
