
The results of the All-Russian "Best in Profession" competition in the "Vegetable Grower" category were announced today at the Russian House in Vologda as part of a major agricultural festival.
"Vegetable growers from eight regions of the country competed for the title of best. Ekaterina Avakumova from the Chuvash Republic was the overall winner and the grand prize of one million rubles. Second place went to Alexey Svintsov from Vologda, HEAD of a peasant farm in the village of Maisky in the Vologda Okrug. Rail Shakirzyanov from the Republic of Tatarstan came in third . We congratulate the winners and runners-up on their remarkable results and wish them continued success in their professional endeavors," said Vologda Oblast Governor Georgy Filimonov.
The competition took place over two days at the N.V. Vereshchagin State Agricultural Academy. Participants demonstrated not only their profound theoretical knowledge of agronomy, breeding, and plant protection but also applied it in practice. An expert jury assessed the contestants' skills in completing challenging tasks simulating real-life agricultural work conditions.
The federal stage of the "Best in Profession" competition in the "Vegetable Grower" category was organized as part of the regional "Working Person" project, which is part of the "Personnel" national project initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The agricultural festival, held today in the regional capital, brought together participants of another competition – "Vologda Farmstead." The results were announced today. Three winners were selected in the "Youth Farmstead" and "Veteran Farmstead" categories, as well as in individual categories. Each winner received commemorative gifts and cash prizes," added Georgy Filimonov.
First place in the "Youth Farmstead" category went to the Lobanov family from the Kichmensko-Gorodetsky District. Second place went to the Titov family from the Totemsky District, and third place went to the Lebedev family from the Sheksninsky District.
Anna Pavlovna Tropova from the Vozhegodsky District took the overall victory in the "Veteran's Farmstead" category. The Batov family from the Vologda District came in second, and the Penukov family from the Belozersky District took third place.
Winners were also announced in each category for "Best Well-maintained Farmstead," "Best Agricultural Production Performance," "Best Poultry Farmers," "Best Vegetable Gardeners," "Best Gardeners," "Best Florists," "Rationalization Potential," and "Active Participation in Community Life."
