In India, a case of “yellow fungus” was recorded

Indian doctors have discovered a third type of fungal mold in a person who has had a CORONAVIRUS infection, according to DNA India. The first case of the so-called yellow fungus was registered in Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), otolaryngologist Braya Pal Tyagi spoke about it.

In early May, an outbreak of mucormycosis, or "black fungus", was recorded among those who had recovered from COVID-19 in India. Mucormycosis is a rare infection caused by fungi of the Mucorales family, which are commonly found in soil, plants, manure, rotting fruits and vegetables. The fungus infects the sinuses, brain and lungs and poses a threat to people with weakened immune systems.
