Two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov urged not to pay attention to the criticism of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) from the former CSKA hockey player Lucas Wallmark. Fetisov told RBC Sport about this.

“Good riddance to him, you shouldn’t pay attention to it at all to the light bulb, what will he do now,” Fetisov said.

Earlier, Wallmark said in a conversation with SVT that he wanted to leave RUSSIA as soon as possible. “There were so many thoughts in my HEAD. <...> My family in Sweden lost sleep. I just wanted to get out of there [from Russia]. <...> I was no longer the same Lucas, everything has changed, ”said the Swedish hockey player.

Wallmark and another Swedish striker, Joakim Nordstrom, terminated their contracts with CSKA in early March on their own initiative. CSKA said that both players paid "compensation in accordance with the requirements of the regulations", and that the sports rights to them will be assigned to the army club until 2023.

The hockey player spent an incomplete season in the KHL, on account of his eight goals and 11 assists in 33 games.

On April 30, CSKA defeated Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the final series of the Gagarin Cup and won the trophy for the second time in history.

Foreign athletes began to terminate agreements with Russian clubs, including hockey clubs, and leave Russia from the end of February. In the KHL, foreign players lost, in particular, Salavat Yulaev, Sibir and Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
