September 15, MINSK . In the “Honest Story” project on the BELTA YouTube channel, Polish political scientist Daniel Mikusek spoke about what the real life of a Polish citizen is like and gave examples in numbers.
"The average citizen working in a Western assembly plant, perhaps in a small Polish company, earns on average about 3 thousand zlotys. What does 3 thousand zlotys mean for a resident of a small town? This means that for renting an apartment he must pay 1.5 -1.6 thousand zlotys, he has half of his salary left, the rest of the expenses - for heating, consumption of gas, electricity, water absorb the second half of his salary. The average Polish citizen is left without money," said Daniel Mikusek.
He added: “Prices for gas and electricity in Belarus are much lower, food prices in Belarus are from several to several tens of percent lower. In Poland , a loaf of bread costs approximately from 5.50 to even 10 zlotys, depending on the quality of the bread, the manufacturer . For comparison: in Belarus one loaf of bread costs 1.50 zlotys. The difference is huge. A liter of MILK in Belarus costs about 3 zlotys. In Poland from 6 zlotys and above. An interesting example concerns Coca-Cola. In Belarus, a 2-liter bottle costs 5 50 zlotys. In Poland it costs 8-9 zlotys for a two-liter bottle, that is, almost 100% more. Morawiecki was surprised here by introducing a tax on SUGAR , thanks to which incomethe budget has become higher, but the Poles have to pay for it. I can list many such examples."
"Thousands of examples showing what real life looks like is poverty and misery. 75% of Poles do not have money for bread bills. What saves them? Social programs, that is, the state borrows money around the world to distribute money to its citizens "so that they don't die of hunger. But all this cannot last indefinitely. Because the state cannot borrow indefinitely. And the loans that the state takes on behalf of citizens, and then distributes them to them, sooner or later these citizens will have to be repaid." , concluded Daniel Mikusek.
