The exercises are aimed at working out the coordination of actions aimed at eliminating outbreaks of especially dangerous diseases and preventing infectious animal diseases between the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as working out interregional cooperation.
According to the legend of the exercises, the situation of the outbreak of the MRS disease in the personal subsidiary plot of a citizen was simulated.
Specialists of the state veterinary service of the Republic of Adygea were sent to the place of the alleged epizootic focus to take measures:
- determination of information on the number of susceptible animals available (existed) in the farm and their clinical signs, indicating the number of dead susceptible animals, as well as information on the sale of live susceptible animals and livestock products for the last 30 calendar days;
- isolation in a separate room of a sick animal suspected of being infected with plague of small ruminants;
- clinical examination of susceptible animals;
- determination of probable sources, transmission factors and the estimated time of introduction of the pathogen;
- determination of the boundaries of the alleged epizootic focus and possible ways of the spread of plague of small ruminants;
- avoid mixing susceptible animals with those suspected of having PPR disease;
- sampling of pathological and (or) biological material from susceptible animals for sending samples to the laboratory of an organ or organization that is part of the system of the State Veterinary Service of the Russian Federation.
During the exercises, a wide range of all activities carried out when a suspected source of the disease is detected was worked out. The actions of veterinarians in taking pathological samples, processing premises, vehicles, burning and burying corpses, informing and interacting with all interested authorities, as well as other activities provided for by the requirements of the veterinary legislation of the Russian Federation were demonstrated.
The exercise confirmed the readiness of the authorities to immediately implement a set of measures to prevent the spread, localize and eliminate the source of infection in the event of its occurrence.
