Lean pork futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) fell on Thursday in tandem with falling stock and energy markets, and recession worries fueled concerns about pork demand and consumer spending cuts, REUTERS reported.

Quotes fell sharply on Thursday after US data showed that consumer spending rose less than expected in May. “Today we talked more about the overall macroeconomic performance,” says Ted Seyfried, chief agricultural strategist at Zaner Group.
