“In terms of the production of veterinary drugs, I would like to note that we already provide ourselves with 100% of vaccines for particularly dangerous diseases, but, of course, we need to increase our capacity for other types of these products,” she noted at the plenary session.

In her report, Oksana Lut presented the main promising areas of activity of the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA. The tasks of the domestic agro-industrial complex for the coming years are defined by the Presidential Decree "On National Development Goals" of May 7 , 2024 , the candidate for the post of minister recalled.

Among other things, it is necessary to develop selection and seed production. The Ministry of Agriculture stimulates this work through measures to support and strengthen the scientific base, as well as dialogue with businesses so that domestic seeds meet market requirements. "Next, we must develop our genetic resources. We already have a good base, and we are currently evaluating it and digitizing the relevant information. We are planning to reorient support measures towards Russian genetics," Oksana Lut noted.

The list specified by the decree also includes such tasks as increasing the volume of agricultural production by 25% by 2030, implementing biotechnology projects, resolving personnel issues, technological support for food security, developing rural areas, and increasing agricultural exports by one and a half times.

Answering a question from one of the legislators about the possibility of adjusting veterinary rules for small livestock farms, Oksana Lut noted that the Russian Ministry of Agriculture is ready for a constructive dialogue and will consider the proposals of the farming community. However, she urged a cautious approach to this issue, since the epizootic well-being of the industry and the safety of livestock products for consumers depend on it.
