
The harvesting of row crops—corn, sunflowers, SUGAR beets, and soybeans— is actively underway in the region .
Farmers in the region have already harvested more than half of the soybean acreage. The harvest amounted to 12,500 tons, with an average yield of 15.1 centners per hectare.
This year, agricultural producers have allocated 17,700 hectares to soybeans. They are grown in 11 districts of the region, with the largest acreage concentrated in Novoaleksandrovsky, Kochubeyevsky, Trunovsky, and Georgievsky.
"In accordance with the instructions of Governor Vladimir Vladimirov, the Ministry of Agriculture is actively working on import substitution in seed production. Its share is constantly growing. This year, the share of domestically bred soybean seeds amounted to 54%. "The region's farmers use domestic varieties that have good drought- and heat-resistant qualities, making them successful in our region's natural and climatic conditions," noted Elena Tambovtseva, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
In 2024 , the soybean harvest in Stavropol Krai, across farms of all types, amounted to 27,000 tons.
Soybeans are one of the most export-oriented agricultural crops in the Stavropol Territory. Last year, including as part of the regional project "Export of Agricultural Products" of the national project "International Cooperation and EXPORT," soybean exports totaled approximately 10,000 tons, worth over $5.8 million .
