Belarusian sugar factories have begun exporting sugar beet pulp to the UAE via the exchange.

September 22, MINSK . Belarusian SUGAR producers have begun using exchange trading to EXPORT their products to the United Arab Emirates, the BUCE press service told BELTA.

Following two trading sessions held at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, a total of 4,000 tonnes of sugar beet pulp was sold to UAE importers.

According to BUCE, the geography of exchange-traded sugar beet pulp supplies has so far included six countries: Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, RUSSIA, and Estonia. From January to August 2025, 78,400 tonnes of this product were sold to foreign markets, 5% more than in the same period in 2024 . In value terms, pulp exports increased by 74%, from $3.5 million to $6.1 million.

"This year, exchange traders from the UAE have shown increased interest in Belarusian agricultural products and are regularly concluding deals. As a result, compared to January-August 2024, agricultural product sales to the UAE market increased by 63% to $32 million. The most popular product groups among UAE residents were amino acids, MILK powder , and flax fiber," the commodity exchange's press service reported.

As of September 22, 39 business entities from the United Arab Emirates were accredited at the BUCE. This is seven companies more than at the beginning of January of this year. In terms of business activity indicators, the total value of exchange transactions between Belarusian and UAE participants reached $37 million in the first eight months of 2025. This represents a 145% growth rate compared to the same period in 2024.

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) was established in 2004. The first trades took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting their products and to help foreign companies enter the Belarusian market. The exchange trades a wide range of metal, timber, agricultural , industrial, and consumer goods.
