In 2022, experts from the Primorsky branch of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR identified 26 cases of infection with mold fungi in products manufactured in the region. In the materials of the department, it is indicated that the mold was found in batches of dumplings, salted caviar and fish snacks, and it can settle in almost any product.
For example, CHINA requires mandatory testing of honey supplied to the country for mold fungi, as mold can develop even in this environment. Molds also like long-term storage products, as they need time to fully develop, the Rosselkhoznadzor notes. At the same time, mold fungi can get into products at the production site in case of violation of sanitary rules, in violation of storage rules, when using unsafe raw materials, but also literally through the air - mold fungi can spread in the atmosphere, even if the rest of the enterprise is kept clean and safe.
Employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor daily check workshops and refrigeration plants for the content of mold fungi in the atmosphere - only in the Primorsky district such checks take about 100 years. It is impossible to eat mold-infected foods - they remain toxic even after heat treatment, recalls Rosselkhoznadzor.
