Hong Kong suspends poultry imports from Poland and the UK

A CFS spokesperson said that, according to the Department of Census and Statistics, Hong Kong imported about 1,010 tons of chilled and frozen poultry MEAT and about 290,000 poultry eggs from the UK, as well as about 2,680 tons of frozen poultry meat and about 15.73 million eggs. poultry from Poland last year.

“CFS has contacted the British and Polish authorities on these matters and will be closely monitoring information released by WOAH and the relevant authorities on avian influenza outbreaks. Appropriate measures will be taken in response to the development of the situation,” the representative of the department said.
