Belgorod center "EFKO" plans to increase the production of vegetable meat five times

As part of the national project "Sciences and Universities", 170 technological projects are being implemented in RUSSIA, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said during a "government hour" in the Federation Council on February 15. In the message, a government representative noted that some projects are related to the food industry.

For example, in the Belgorod region, the production of vegetable MEAT was launched on the basis of the Efko Group of Companies, Dmitry Chernyshenko said. At the moment, 8 thousand tons of vegetable meat are produced here, but production volumes are going to be increased to 40 thousand tons. The total investment in production is 4 billion rubles, in the near future the company also intends to switch to using its own raw materials. Now vegetable cutlets and burgers are made from soy protein, but they will replace it with a more versatile wheat protein.

In the same region, Efko launched an enterprise producing a protein sweetener, the official continued. The produced preparation is 1,000 times sweeter than SUGAR and can be used by people who, for HEALTH reasons or as part of a healthy diet, are not suitable for regular sugar.

The official also mentioned that another large-scale scientific project was launched in Kuzbass, which is important for the development of the local agro-industrial complex - the small spacecraft Kuzbass-300 was launched into orbit. He will monitor the environmental situation in the region, the official explained.
