Food production in Russia fell by 0.9% over the past eight months.

The production volume of various types of MEAT, including beef and pork, amounted to 0.3 million tonnes in August, a 2% decrease compared to August 2024. Over the first eight months, production remained at 2.5 million tonnes, a decrease of 1.4% year-on-year.

Regarding other products, 0.4 million tons of processed fish were produced in August, also down 0.9% year-on-year, while canned potatoes increased 26.5% year-on-year. MILK production fell 1% this month to 0.5 million tons, while a slight increase of 0.7% was recorded from January to August.

Some categories, such as white beet SUGAR , showed positive dynamics, with its production volume increasing by 17.2% in August, although overall figures for the eight months were down by 13.2%.

Overall, the agricultural sector faced challenges that resulted in a cumulative reduction in production volumes across a number of categories.
