In the Rostov region, 15.5 thousand ducklings were bred at the poultry complex from their own parent flock

The company expects to receive an incubation egg from the parent flock's own duck as early as mid-November 2022.
The first batch of 15.5 thousand ducklings of the parent flock was bred at the duck production complex of the Damate group of companies in the Millerovsky district of the Rostov region.
The ducklings have already been transferred to the breeding ground, where they will be reared for 140 days. The specialists of the agricultural holding plan to receive the first hatching egg from the duck of the parent flock in mid-November 2022.
“Autonomous production of hatching eggs enables the company not to depend on import supplies and reduce biological risks. In accordance with the technology, our own replacement young stock of the parent stock will allow us to renew the spent parent stock once every three months,” the company's management notes.
The first batch of grown ducklings after 140 days will be sent to the site of the parent flock, where they will produce hatching eggs for 52 weeks. From the new parent flock, the company will receive a hatching egg, and from it - the final hybrid of ducklings for further rearing for MEAT.
The company notes that it uses the White Beijing breed from the English supplier of Cherry Valley in its work. The breed was chosen due to its high production performance, the meat products from the duck of this cross are of good quality and attractive taste. Thanks to its versatile properties, the weft of this cross quickly gained popularity and became in demand on the market. The specialists of the enterprise carry out serious breeding work with the livestock, selecting only the most successful bird specimens for further work with the breed.
“This is another step in the phased restoration and expansion of poultry meat production, which is being implemented by the Damate group of companies,” emphasized Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region. - Of course, own parent stock is a strengthening of the company's position and an excellent basis for its development. The government of the region, for its part, also supported the enterprise, allocating 192 million rubles from the regional budget last year for subsidies for the purchase of hatching eggs and breeding young turkeys and ducks. And we are already seeing the results, and the production of poultry meat in the Don region has increased by 5.5 times since the beginning of the year.”
Recall that the Damate group of companies has been implementing a project since 2020 to restart the facilities for the production of turkey and duck meat located in the Rostov region. The organization of the duck parent stock in the Millerovsky district has become an important part of the project. Work on the formation of parental and commercial livestock was carried out in stages. In November 2020, Damate Group began completing the parent stock, when the first batch of replacement young stock in the amount of 17.8 thousand heads arrived from Germany. In February 2022, the last parent stock site was launched.
