On December 6, the Department of Agriculture of the Bryansk Region held a working meeting with a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on the issue of further development of seed production, the volume of sowing seeds of domestic selection in the Bryansk Region.
The meeting was attended by Deputy DIRECTOR of the Department of Selection and Seed Production of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Ivan Aristarkhov, Acting Director of the Department of Agriculture of the Bryansk Region Sergei Shapovalov, heads of federal state budgetary institutions - the branch of the Rosselkhoz Center in the Bryansk Region Alexander Frolov and the branch of the State Sort Commission in the Bryansk Region region Galina Dornykh, rector of Bryansk State Agrarian University Sergey Sychev, representative of SoyuzSemSvekla LLC Evgeny Gorelov, heads of regional agricultural departments, heads of elite seed farms in the region, heads of large enterprises and holdings in the region.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nina Kineva, HEAD of the crop production department of the Department of Agriculture of the Bryansk Region, spoke about the results of the 2023 harvest and focused the attention of farmers on increasing the share of the use of domestically selected seeds in agricultural production.
Deputy Director of the Department of Selection and Seed Production of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Ivan Aristarkhov reported on trends in the field of seed production of agricultural crops in the Russian Federation. He noted that in accordance with the Doctrine of Food Security, by 2030 it is necessary to reach a level of self-sufficiency in domestically selected seeds of over 75%.
Evgeniy Gorelov, a representative of SoyuzSemSvekla LLC, made proposals for the sale of domestically produced SUGAR beet seeds.
Alexander Frolov, head of the branch of the Russian Agricultural Center for the Bryansk Region, reported on the production of domestically selected seeds by agricultural producers in the Bryansk region in 2023. He said that varieties of domestic selection are not only not inferior, but also superior to foreign ones in a number of characteristics. The director of
the All-Russian Research Institute of Lupine , a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “FSC VIK named after. V.R. Williams" German Yagovenko. He noted that during its existence the institute has created more than 40 varieties of lupine, 3 varieties of grain crops and about 60 varieties of fruit and berry crops. Currently, 4 varieties of lupine and 2 varieties of fruit and berry crops are being assessed by the State Variety Commission. The head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "State Varietal Commission in the Bryansk Region" Galina Dornykh reported on the results of variety testing in 2022-2023 in the Bryansk Region, focusing on the fact that over these years the share of Russian selection is 72%.
At the end of the meeting, a ceremonial presentation of awards for achieving high production indicators in the competition “Best beet-growing farm in RUSSIA 2022” took place to agricultural producers of the Komarichsky district - Agricultural Timiryazevsky LLC, Head of K(F)H Shokhin Sergey Viktorovich, Agroproduct LLC.
