Don agrarians expand the range of field work

In the farms of the Rostov region, they began sowing industrial, fodder crops and potatoes.
To date, all districts of the Rostov region are conducting spring field work.
“Sowing of spring crops is gaining momentum, Don agrarians, cherishing every fine minute, sowed almost 425 thousand hectares with spring crops, that is, about 25% of the plan,” said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region. - Most of it is occupied by cereals and legumes - more than 300 thousand hectares have already been sown with them. However, the Don agrarians are systematically expanding the range of field work. Started industrial and fodder crops, as well as vegetables and potatoes. Farmers this year could not go into the fields for a long time due to prolonged frosts, but this is not critical, they still fit into the scientifically based time frame. At the same time, the moisture accumulated in the soil has a positive effect on the growth and development of both winter and spring crops.”
To date, industrial crops have already been sown on an area of ​​over 100,000 hectares, fodder crops on 10,000 hectares, and potatoes and vegetables on 4,000 hectares.
The leading positions in terms of the area of ​​actual sowing are in the Zernogradsky and Salsky districts, which have sown more than 31 thousand hectares with spring crops, with a small margin from them, the three leaders are closed by the farmers of Peschanokopsky, who have sown more than 28 thousand hectares.
In addition, winter crops and other types of field work continue in all areas of the Don. Winter crops were fertilized on an area of ​​more than 2.6 million hectares, which is almost 89% of the planned area, and re-fertilizing was partially carried out.
The Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food notes that the Don farms are fully provided with all the necessary material and technical resources for field work. So, the provision with seeds of spring, grain and leguminous crops is more than 100%, the provision with mineral fertilizers for spring field work is 96%, the acquisition continues.
The mechanism of preferential short-term lending to farmers also contributes to the field work. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Rostov Region has been allocated a limit of more than 2.3 billion rubles for 2022, which should allow Don agrarians to attract about 14 billion rubles in loans, of which 10 billion rubles for spring field work. As of the beginning of the week, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture has already agreed on applications from Don agricultural producers in the amount of almost 11.5 billion rubles.
