At least 30 bodies of people believed to have died from covid-19 have been found in the Ganges River in the Indian state of Bihar. This is reported by The Times of India.

The publication, citing the local administration, reports that the bodies could have been dumped into the river a few days ago in the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh. Locals believe that people from the coastal villages throw the bodies of the dead into the river because of the high cost of cremation and funeral pyres.

According to citizens, there may be about 100-150 bodies in the river. In turn, The Tribune, citing local authorities, reports that 48 bodies were found in the Ganges.
