The Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor has registered an isothermal test, which is aimed at immediately identifying two different parts of the genome of the covid-19 virus . This is stated on the website of Rospotrebnadzor.

“The Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor has registered the world's first isothermal test AmpliSens® SC2-IT, aimed at simultaneously detecting two different regions of the SARS-CoV-2 virus genome. The new development not only ensures high detection of the virus, but also significantly reduces the likelihood of obtaining a false negative result, ”the message says.

As explained in the department, the new set of reagents works based on the method of reproducing genomic copies of the pathogen in vitro. At the same time, unlike other similar test systems that are created on the LAMP platform, “it is aimed at simultaneously identifying two different regions of the SARS-CoV-2 virus genome that are not characterized by high variability (as, for example, in regions of the S-gene of the CORONAVIRUS )".

In December last year, Rospotrebnadzor announced the development of a coronavirus test that can be used to find out whether a person with coronavirus is infected with the Omicron strain or not.
