
Milk production in Belarus has increased by more than 10% over five years. The Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Krupko told journalists about this during the EXPORT forum "Dairy Belarus".
“Over the past five years, we have managed to increase the volume of milk production in the country as a whole by more than 10%. In 2020, we reached a figure of 7.8 million tons. The prospects are clear: by the end of the year, we will increase production by 100 thousand tons, and by the end of the five-year plan, we plan to reach a figure of 9.2 million tons,” Ivan Krupko said.
He stressed that there is a great demand for Belarusian dairy products in foreign markets. “The needs of the domestic market are met. Today we are doing everything possible to increase the export potential of our country in the dairy industry. Businesses operate sustainably and profitably. Raw material zones, processing and our traders who sell milk in foreign markets also earn. Together with experts, we are trying to develop a further strategy for Belarusian exports in dairy production,” the minister said.
