News Topic: The large agricultural enterprise, Experimental Base Krinichnaya, maintains high production standards in livestock farming, crop production, and other areas of its operations. This level of achievement is achieved through the meticulous work of its employees and by adhering to technological processes. Our correspondent found out what this year has been like for the enterprise.
High Level.
The largest municipal agricultural unitary enterprise, the Krinichnaya Experimental Base, is operating and rapidly expanding in the Mozyr District. It engages in livestock farming, crop production, and the cultivation of elite grain and legume seeds. The enterprise also includes a corn calibration plant and a canning facility.
"The year was unusual and very difficult due to the long winter, which affected sowing dates and delayed the harvest until early September, which is quite rare for the south of the country," says Igor Sukhotsky, Deputy Director for Production at the Krinichnaya Experimental Base. He notes, "Nevertheless, the grain harvest was a record for our farm. We made a positive impact by adapting to the conditions imposed by the capricious weather and by strictly adhering to cultivation techniques."
On its extensive 14,000-hectare land, the company sows winter rapeseed, triticale, wheat, and rye. It also grows spring crops, potatoes , and corn on its arable land. Krinichnaya sells its elite, high-quality seeds to agricultural enterprises in the Mozyr district, Gomel, Minsk, and Vitebsk regions.
"Strict adherence to technological processes in growing elite seeds influences the subsequent results. Therefore, we have reached a fairly high level of production and strive to improve this bar gradually, year after year," notes Igor Vladimirovich, adding: "This approach extends not only to fieldwork but also to milk production and cattle weight gain ."
Keeping up with the times.
The company generates significant profits from its corn grading plant, where the process chain begins with seed sowing, harvesting, and delivery of cobs to the drying, grading, treatment, and packaging departments, all the way to subsequent distribution throughout the country. With the proceeds, the Krinichnaya Experimental Base Enterprise rewards its employees, invests in equipment modernization, and upgrades its machinery and tractor fleet with modern, high-powered, domestically produced equipment.
"If you don't keep up with the times, you won't achieve great results. New equipment is now multifunctional and allows for the fastest possible processing times, significantly simplifying and elevating fieldwork," asserts Igor Sukhotsky.
Machine operator Leonid Savchits, who joined the farm four years ago and has no regrets, agrees with the deputy head of production.
"From my first days, I liked the farm director . His approach to business management and his attitude toward each specialist appealed to me. Nikolai Grigorievich is an open person with whom you can discuss any topic, discuss problems, and seek advice," shares Leonid Leonidovich, adding that the farm, overall, has a close-knit and friendly team, with a good management team that values and respects proactive employees, is accommodating, and rewards hardworking workers with bonuses. "That's why I try to complete everything at work so I can go home with peace of mind. After all, the next day might be different."  100 tons of milk daily.
Crop production is closely linked to livestock farming. Forage preparation for the large herd of 11,000 head begins in early spring. The main diet for the cattle is corn silage, of which over 80,000 tons have been harvested. This allows the farm to secure a forage supply for a year and a half. Krinichnoye also stores haylage, a type of hay in bales made of film and netting, in reserve.
There are 7 commercial farms and the same number of dairy complexes operating on the territory of the Experimental Base Krinichnaya State Unitary Enterprise. The farm is the only one in Belarus that breeds Simmental cows, a breed that is undemanding to feed and has high milk yields and weight gains. The total number of cows is 3,824. 92 tons of extra-grade milk are produced daily.
“The main emphasis is placed on the composition of the diet and timely feeding, milking, as well as the living conditions of the animals,” says the deputy for production, noting that the high profitability of meat and dairy products would not be possible without the coordinated and organized work of the engineering staff, specialists, and workers: “The work and responsible approach of each employee allows us to maintain a high production standard.
Life in the village as in the city.
Galina Kravtsova, foreman of the MTF-400, contributes to the prosperity of the enterprise, managing 2,000 head of cattle. There is a small staff here. In 2019, she and her husband moved from Mozyr to the agro-town of Krinichnoye.
"First, my husband came to the company, then I was offered a job as an identification specialist. In 2022, the farm director called me in and said he saw potential in me, appointing me as a dairy farm foreman. Nikolai Grigorievich taught me all the basics and intricacies of working with animals. Our specialists are also very responsive, helping and consulting with any questions," says Galina Romanovna, adding: "When the question of housing arose, we were immediately offered an apartment in a new building. The working and living conditions are top-notch. The agro-town has a first-aid post, a school, and a kindergarten, and the district center is just a stone's throw away. Life is practically like living in the city.
The company employs 760 people, who have comfortable working and living conditions at their workplaces. The farm also provides extensive social security, financial support , and housing for its employees. Dormitories are available for single workers, while families can choose from two- and three-bedroom apartments and single-story houses with all utilities, with the option to purchase them. In the fall, the farm provides its workers with vegetables from its own stock: 400 kilograms of potatoes, 20 kilograms of carrots, and 6 kilograms of buckwheat.
"Our salaries are decent—starting from 2,000 rubles. Payments are provided for all national and professional holidays. We also pay bonuses for meeting production targets. Furthermore, each employee has health insurance," explains Oksana Grib, Deputy Director for Ideological Work, noting that Krinichny is not short of personnel, but additional labor would be welcome: "We pay 200 base units for a five-year contract, and 300 for a repeat contract. Therefore, we are always happy to welcome young professionals who are ready to live comfortably and work for the success and prosperity of the farm."
