In January-April, industrial poultry production decreased by 4.2%

Over the four months of this year, agricultural organizations in RUSSIA reduced the production of poultry for slaughter by 4.2% year on year.

In April, the volume of poultry production decreased by 0.8% compared to the previous month, however, this is a more favorable indicator than in March, when production fell by 3.8%. 

The negative dynamics in the poultry industry, recorded in the first quarter of 2021, led to a decline in the MEAT industry: this sector accounts for approximately 50% of the production of livestock and poultry of slaughter conditions. In January-April, it decreased by 1.1%. In April, there was an increase of 2.1% - up to 1,019,600 tons.

The production of slaughter pigs in April 2021 increased by 4.6% to 408,900 tons, and by 2.1% in four months.

The volume of cattle production in April increased by 7% - up to 89,800 tons, and in January-April 2021 - by 2.2%.
