More than 267 thousand rubles were allocated in the Amur Region to compensate for the damage to poultry farmers who lost chickens and ducks as a result of an outbreak of bird flu. Due to this payment, poultry farmers from 24 private farms will be able to make up for the loss of 506 chickens, geese and ducks, the agency said.
The department notes that the cause of the outbreak was non-compliance with veterinary rules in one of the farms. Due to the negligence of the owner of the farm, poultry became infected from migratory wild geese, which are carriers of the disease, and as a result, all the poultry farmers of the village suffered, the report said. At the same time, a decree came into force on March 1, 2023, which states that violators of veterinary rules may lose compensation for damage from the government, in whole or in part, so the culprit of the outbreak will receive compensation in a limited amount.
