LKKZ, which had been idle for two years, was bought out in June 2023 in the interests of the Priozerny pig farm (part of the MitProm holding ). it began operations in February 2024 and already produces 5.5 thousand tons of feed per month, the report says. At the same time, the enterprise has not completed its work and a second stage of modernization is expected, as a result of which feed production will almost double.
The purchase of the plant was justified by the lack of production of its own feed at the pig farms of the MitProm holding, Elena Sizareva, General DIRECTOR of the North-West Division of MitProm, told RBK Petersburg. The pig farms' need is 60 thousand tons of feed per year, the report states. Everything that is produced in excess of this volume, the company will send for sale. In addition, in 2025, the company may begin producing feed for aquaculture, the report says.
According to Elena Sizareva, due to the purchase of LKKZ, the costs of purchasing feed and logistics have already been reduced.
