Agroexport: the potential for beef exports from Russia is estimated at $450-480 million per year

According to the center's analysts, the growth in deliveries became possible due to the opening of the Chinese market for Russian exporters. As a result, CHINA increased imports of beef and offal from RUSSIA from 2 tons in 2019 to 21.5 thousand tons in 2021 (by $149.2 million). Thus, the share of China in Russian exports amounted to 58.1% in physical terms and 65.8% in value terms.

China and Saudi Arabia, which already account for more than 76% of Russian deliveries in value terms, will remain the key destinations for the EXPORT of this MEAT. Agroexport also names the countries of the Persian Gulf as promising areas, which are becoming one of the important strategic directions for the development of Russian exports, as well as the CIS countries.

The executive DIRECTOR of Rincon Management, Konstantin Korneev, whose words are quoted in the review, believes that Russian companies can supply not only the current range, but also produce customized beef products. He noted that in Russia there are modern processing facilities and the possibility of organizing almost any fattening technology. “If we are more active in telling potential buyers abroad about our advantages, we will be able to arrange the export of customized goods, from cuts of a certain quality for HoReCa to a range of specialized semi-finished products,” the expert is sure.

In addition, the expansion of Russia's export opportunities is associated with the correct management of the dairy herd plume, Korneev believes. “If we talk about promotion, then, in my opinion, the export potential of Russian beef can be found in the popularization of Russian cuisine, primarily in solvent friendly countries. Here, the countries of the Persian Gulf are especially promising, which are distinguished by a multinational population and high loyalty to a wide variety of cultures, gastronomic formats and novelties,” Korneev believes.
