New varieties of wheat and rapeseed will be presented at the Lipetsk Field Days

They will be held on July 7-8 on the fields of the Lipetsk Research Institute of Rapeseed and on the territory of the Lipetsk State Variety Testing Station in the village of Bruslanovka.
On the first day, the specialists of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Scientific Center" All-Russian Research Institute of Oilseeds named after V.S. Pustovoita" will tell about modern varieties of oilseeds: rapeseed, mustard, colza and soybeans. In order to provide agricultural producers with seeds of higher reproductions, the Lipetsk Rapeseed Research Institute is successfully implementing a program for the development of seed production. Its scientists have developed a variety of spring rapeseed Forpost, which is a new stage in the development of Russian breeding. This modern variety with high (up to 43 c/ha) potential yield is resistant to a number of herbicides. Today, the total potential of the Institute's selection and seed center makes it possible to create a reliable base for meeting up to 70 percent of the needs of Russian enterprises in rapeseed.
On the territory of the Lipetsk State Variety Testing Station, which occupies 1.7 thousand hectares, visitors to the Lipetsk Field Day will be able to get acquainted with new trends in the selection of various agricultural crops, with modern technologies for their cultivation. Last autumn, 172 varieties of winter crops were planted. They will receive special attention this year. 4 new Russian varieties of winter wheat are of great interest: Batya, Fedor, Shkola and Timiryazevskaya Yubileynaya. The station specialists will present 250 varieties of winter and spring wheat, 172 sunflower hybrids, 168 corn hybrids, 72 varieties and hybrids of winter and spring rapeseed, 64 soybean varieties. In total, it will be possible to see more than 1 thousand varieties and hybrids of various crops.
Also, guests of the Lipetsk Field Day will be able to evaluate samples of domestic and imported agricultural machinery both in statics and in dynamics, and see the results of experiments on fertilization. There will be an awards ceremony for agricultural workers. An extensive entertainment program is provided.
