Domestic flowers are grown in the Yaroslavl region to replace imported flowers.

Yaroslavl florist Ksenia Kubryakova started growing domestic flowers to replace imported ones.
She completed free online training at the Synergy University in the field of Crop Production as part of a federal project for comprehensive support and support for novice farmers. She received the status of self-employed, bought land in the village of Medyagino, Yaroslavl district, and built a year-round greenhouse with an area of 300 square meters.
By March 8, 45,000 tulips, 15,000 eustomas, 12,000 gladioli, 5,000 peonies, and 2,000 roses, irises, and matthiols were grown on the farm.
Ksenia bought two more greenhouses with a total area of 900 square meters. They are equipped with the latest technology. Everything works automatically: microclimate, humidity, temperature, lighting mode are supported.
The farm is resolving the issue of planting material, the supply of which from Europe is prohibited under the sanctions.
“We bought tulip bulbs, grew flowers, cut them, put the bulbs in storage, and in two years we will be able to grow flowers from them,” said Ksenia Kubryakova. – We will propagate the Dutch eustoma by cuttings.
To replace tulips and irises, Ksenia plans to grow Russian lilies. Also in the plans is the production of the entire range of summer flowers popular with Yaroslavl residents: peonies, daisies, gladioli, dahlias, garden roses.
