Since the beginning of 2021, eight new brands have entered St. Petersburg, JLL reported. At the same time, experts drew attention to the fact that all these trademarks were already represented in RUSSIA - there were no brands new to the Russian market among them. Commenting on the situation, analysts do not exclude that it will continue next year against the backdrop of an increase in the incidence of covid-19 and the possibility of introducing additional restrictions on trade. Bringing new brands to the market in such conditions is a big risk.

We reached Petersburg

In 2021, new international brands came to St. Petersburg, which already exist in the Russian Federation, but are not yet represented in the city, experts say. According to JLL, among them are PitBull West Coast in the Piter Raduga shopping center, Calliope in the Mega Dybenko shopping center, Marc Andre in the Okhta Mall shopping center, Dirk Bikkembergs in the Europolis shopping center. In addition to these brands, Colliers also celebrated the opening of a children's goods store JACADI and VOLYA WEAR (a clothing store for TV presenter Pavel Volya and former gymnast Lyaysan Utyasheva) in the Nevsky Center.

“In 2021, major brands were in no hurry to enter the St. Petersburg market. Most often, brands that develop a new market open a store in a shopping center, where a consumer audience has already been formed, a stable flow. But the pandemic has made its own adjustments to the work of shopping centers, so tenants have begun to actively consider street retail premises,” says Anna Lapchenko, HEAD of retail real estate at Knight Frank St Petersburg. For example, H&M Group opened the first stores of &Other Stories and COS brands in St. Petersburg this year in street retail, in a building on Bolshoy Prospekt P.S.

Mastered the mono format

In addition, the Montblanc brand returned to St. Petersburg, and a watch boutique of this brand was opened on Staro-Nevsky Prospekt. Previously, Montblanc has already entered the Northern capital - the St. Petersburg market was previously located first on Nevsky Prospekt and then on Bolshaya Konyushennaya Street, but in the end both stores were closed several years ago.

This year's trend is the launch of own mono-brand stores in St. Petersburg for those brands that were previously sold in department stores. So, Ralph Lauren opened the first Polo Ralph Lauren mono-brand boutique in St. Petersburg in the Gallery shopping center, and two new Armani fashion house stores will open in the Peter Raduga shopping center - the first mono-brand EA7 in St. Petersburg and the Armani Exchange boutique in a new concept, Colliers reported. .
