British scientist admits the transformation of COVID-19 into a seasonal cold

Paul Hunter, a professor at the Norwich Medical School, said this in an article published in The Spectator.

Hunter believes that people will not stop getting sick with covid-19 . According to him, vaccines will temporarily stop the spread of the virus, but soon their overall effectiveness will decrease. However, at the same time, vaccinations will prevent severe illness and death. “There will never be herd immunity, but we will find a manageable balance between immunity and infections,” says the British professor.

The rapid mutation of the virus will rapidly slow down after the emergence of the dominant strain, the scientist believes. According to him, the Sars-Cov-2 delta strain may well become such a dominant variety of the virus.

The delta strain of coronavirus was discovered in India in October last year. According to the World HEALTH Organization (WHO), it is twice as contagious as the initial Wuhan variant of the infection.
